FAQ 2
Q. How can anyone justify charging so much for one day's work?
A. Leaving the artistic value and skill level of a professional photographer aside, you must understand that shooting the wedding, is only the first and easiest step in completing a wedding assignment. After the wedding, comes the editing and retouching to make things look perfect. Finally the creation of your album and perhaps your designer album. All of these steps can add up to a week or more of work and running around.
Now lets look at the artistic and skill levels of a photographer. One photographer might take a photo of you and your significant other in front of your favourite restaurant and another photographer might do the same thing - one will do it one way and it may be nice but the other does it in such a way that it captures the exact romantic feeling you get when you visit that restaurant - on film. Which photographer would you like to have at your wedding?
Secondly, There are professional photographers that have spent enormous amounts of money and time learning about their craft so that when they photograph you at the most important day of your life, they are not guessing at the results but instead know exactly what they are doing technically. This allows them the freedom to create the images you need and want, without missing any, on account that they were to busy looking at the review screen to see if they got it right!
Then there are the amateurs - the ones that purchase a good camera put it in auto mode and hope the camera does its job correctly which of course it does not and almost always misreads the exposure at the most important parts of your wedding day - the parts that can never be re-done! These amateurs not only give hard working pros a bad name but also and most appalling of all, use your special and sacred day to make a quick buck.
Sometimes the saying "you get what you pay for" is true!

FAQ 3
What should I look for in a photographer?
Every photographer is also a person so first and foremost you should like and feel comfortable with your photographer. Your emotional state translates onto film. Secondly you must see and like his or her photographic style. In other words see if you enjoy the images you are seeing and how they tell the wedding story. And finally does his or her work fit into your budget. Also ask to see a couple of full weddings not just their hit list - do this to see their consistency.
Don't be fooled by how long someone has been "doing weddings". Someone can be doing something for 20 years, but if they have been doing it wrong it's 20 years of wrong doing!

FAQ 4
Q. How many pictures should I expect to receive out of a full day?
A. Again this varies greatly with the type of package you pay for and the size of your wedding but generally you should get anywhere from 150 to 500 sometimes more! However don't get caught up in the amount - it's the quality not the quantity that counts! As an example you might receive 800 images but only have 80 good ones OR you might get 200 images and have 150 that are great - which would you prefer? For this reason you MUST SEE the work and base your decision on that and not on "what you get"
It does not mean much if you get a whole lot of nothing! These are your memories and heirlooms.

FAQ 5
Q. How far in advance should I book a service?
A. In a perfect world I would say at least a year because this gives you time to look around for the best service for you. However, with work schedules the way they are now-a-days, the sooner the better!
